I had a really awful experience in my local pharmacy when I went to ask for the morning after pill.
I had work the next day so I went along during my lunch hour to be told that the pharmacist who can distribute the morning after pill was on his lunch break and if I could come back at 5pm he would be available then. I did so, then to be told by the same person that it’s at the pharmacist’s discretion if they give out the pill and he wasn’t prepared to give it to me.
I couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t even spoken to him, nobody had asked about my circumstances in anyway. In hindsight I definitely should have taken this further but I was too embarrassed to complain in the shop, as others were waiting on prescriptions. I was grateful however as a lady stepped forward to voice/stick up for me at the time. I went to the pharmacy near my university the next day, and my experience there was thankfully a very positive one.
